Mental Training Workshop - How to Prepare for a Freediving CompetitionÂ
When & Where:Â
August 22nd, 2024 - 5:00PM to 7:00PMÂ
Diving Sports Canada - Vancouver, BCÂ
What is this event about?Â
This event is open to everyone, including non-divers, that are interested in the mental training techniques professional freedivers use to dive deep. Professional freedivers use strategic breathwork exercises, visualization and medidation to control the heart rate, blood pressure, nervous system and emotions (fear, anxiety, stress) before deep dives.Â
Through the education and a deep understanding of sports psychology and neuroscience, professional freedivers learn to control their nervous system and emotions before deep dives. This is imensely valuable for everyone in every day life: to deal with difficult moments, relationships, at work and in the home. Learning more about your Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) and how you can control both the Sympathetic Nervous System (SNS) and Parasympathetic Nervous System (PNS) allows you to make better judgements and decisions during stressful and difficult times.Â
